Imprisonment and Escape of LT. (JG.) Dieter Dengler, USNR. Hearing,
Senate Armed Services Committee, September 16, 1966. ii, 28 pp. I haven't

is: Dengler was shot down near the Mu Gia Pass on February 1, 1966,
and captured by the Pathet Lao. He and two other prisoners escaped June
29; he was finally spotted by an aircraft, and rescued, on July 20, 1966.

"sense of the House of Representatives" that the U.S. negotiators in Paris
be instructed that they refuse to discuss any issue other than prisoners
of war until they had achieved "substantial progress" on the POW issue.
