Even in Tibetan villages that have been reached by modern technologies, such as electricity, the Tibetans do not seem to be giving up their custom of burning dried yak dung as fuel. Before it can be burned, it must be dried, in flat patties about eight inches across.

Or they may be laid flat on the ground to dry.
Once dried, yak dung patties can be neatly stacked in a variety of ways.
