Kaili

Kaili, about 125 km east of Guiyang in Guizhou province, is the capital of the Miao-Doug Autonomous Region. We were told it has a population of about 500,000.

Shops.

Streets.

Open market

A wedding party.

Next seven photos: Overviews of sections of Kaili, not including the city center, taken out the window of the Grand Dragon Hotel, on Ningbo Dong Lu. Note the greenery, including some on the tops of buildings.

Female peddlers were quite aggresssive about selling cloth and handicrafts outside the hotel in Kaili.
