Xi'an (1)

Xi'an (Sian), in the valley of the Wei River, is the capital of Shaanxi (Shensi) province. Under the name Chang'an, it was the capital of China during the Western Han Dynasty and the Tang Dynasty.

Shops

Stores, and vehicles parked on the sidewalk. The creation of parking lots and on-street parking places has not kept up with the increase in the number of cars in China; parking on the sidewalk is a frequent solution to the problem. I am not sure whether this sidewalk was deliberately made this wide in order to allow parking there.
