These photos were taken from a bus on the road (a pretty good four-lane divided highway, except that the pavement is a little rough) running east from Yichang toward Jingzhou. In the stretch closest to Yichang, low hills alternate with little valleys. There are fish ponds, cultivated fields, and houses in the valleys.
The trees on the hillside are in rows, so they are presumably an orchard (orange trees?):
Again, the trees appear to be in rows. The fields on the flat land below appear to
be growing corn and vegetables.
Corn fields, fish ponds, buildings, and a minor road.
Farther from Yichang, the valleys got wider, and broad rice fields appeared.
